A Different Kind of Career in Finance

SIBK is not a large bank. That is deliberate. At our scale, every team member carries real responsibility from day one — working directly on live mandates, advisory engagements, and portfolio decisions that matter to our clients.

We are building something genuinely different in East African capital markets — a CMA-licensed institution where principled, ethical finance is not a marketing position but the operating standard against which every decision is measured. If that motivates you, we want to hear from you.

Real Work from Day One

No shadow work, no make-work projects. Junior team members are included in live mandates with direct client exposure and genuine accountability.

Ethical Finance as a Standard

Shariah compliance is not a constraint we work around — it is the framework we work within. Every team member understands why this matters.

Learning at Pace

The breadth of our advisory and portfolio management work creates a steep, varied learning curve. You will develop faster here than at larger institutions.

East African Ambition

We are building a regional institution. Team members grow with the firm — contributing to and benefiting from its expansion across the East African market.

Current Opportunities

We are currently recruiting for the following roles. All positions are based at our Nairobi offices — Britam Tower, 19th Floor, Upperhill.

Analyst — Corporate Finance & Transaction Advisory

Full-Time Nairobi Corporate Finance

Support senior advisers on live M&A, capital raising, and restructuring mandates — financial modelling, due diligence, information memorandum preparation, and client materials. 1–3 years' experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or a Big 4 transactions team preferred.

Support the portfolio management team across discretionary and non-discretionary client mandates — investment research, portfolio monitoring, performance reporting, and client communications. CFA candidate or holder preferred. Knowledge of Islamic finance instruments is an advantage.

Shariah Compliance Analyst

Full-Time Nairobi Compliance

Support the Shariah Compliance Officer in screening, certification, and ongoing monitoring of all products, instruments, and mandates. Background in Islamic finance, Islamic jurisprudence, or finance with demonstrated knowledge of Shariah compliance frameworks (AAOIFI standards preferred).

Business Development & Client Relations Officer

Full-Time Nairobi Client Relations

Originate and develop client relationships across SIBK's two service lines — corporate finance and portfolio management. Identify transaction and mandate opportunities, manage introductory meetings, and support senior advisers throughout the business development cycle. Prior experience in financial services sales or relationship management required.

What You Can Expect at SIBK

Live Deal Exposure
Junior team members work directly on live mandates — not in support functions or on hypothetical projects.
Professional Development
Support for CFA, CISI, and Islamic finance qualifications — with study leave for examinations and structured mentoring from senior advisers.
Regional Exposure
Work on transactions and mandates spanning Kenya and the East African region — including cross-border deal structures and diaspora client mandates.
Purposeful Work
Be part of building a genuinely ethical financial institution — one where Shariah compliance, client outcomes, and professional integrity are the non-negotiable standards.
